Middlemore Hospital

Monkey Toe handrails and walkways make a hospital roof safe

Project Overview

Hospitals aren't the austere and lifeless buildings they used to be. Middlemore Hospital’s new Harley Gray Building is a modern and inviting facility with zoned patient areas.

Designed by specialised environments’ architects Klein, it includes an operating suite, an assessment unit, a post-anaesthetic care unit and non-clinical support, such as the hospital kitchen and spiritual centre.

Of course, safety in a hospital is paramount, so what better product to provide safe access on the roof than Monkey Toe’s walkways and handrails.

Monkey Toe’s non-penetrating, raised walkway is designed specifically to protect the roof from damage. The walkway is capable of taking high volume of traffic; ensuring excellent access for building maintenance.
