When an old car lot was redeveloped into a modern building, functionality was just as important as looks. Cequent were engaged to manage the design and construction of this new mixed-use office/retail development, located on Papanui Road in Christchurch’s popular central suburb of Merivale.

The building features a number of ground-level retail spaces with upper-level offices. It has basement car parking, screw-piled foundations and a structural steel frame.

Monkeytoe were commissioned to design and install screens around the roof-mounted plant items so they could not be seen from the street or surrounding buildings. The solution needed to attach to a membrane roof as well as a standard roof profile.

Our louvre system provided sufficient airflow while also factoring in potential wind loadings. Using our unique fixing solution, we were able to easily and effectively fix the supports and louvre system to the roof.
