This large factory development for Orora Packaging in the heart of Manukau’s industrial zone was managed by Federal Group. The factory needed several large air-handling units (AHUs) to keep the building positively pressurised and exclude dust. With a tight schedule, the Monkeytoe platform provided the ideal solution for housing the AHUs, delivering pre-engineered systems in a short time frame.

The lightweight platform design transfers the weight back to the purlins, and the open amply mesh allows rain to wash through easily. The platform is high and close to a drop-off, but its bolt-on Monkeytoe handrail system makes it safe and compliant. The site also uses a lockable ladder cover (to limit access to the roof), caged ladders, smaller platforms and walkways.
