With precious artifacts and artworks stored and exhibited below, ensuring the watertightness of a museum roof is vital. The Dowse Art Museum in Lower Hutt required access to plant equipment in the easiest and safest way without any risk of compromising the roof.

Monkeytoe was able to offer a quick and practical solution using walkways and handrails that connected into the building’s existing ladders. With a number of different roof angles at the site, some walkways required levelling for easier and safer access. We installed lightweight aluminium walkways on the existing roof with our clever Monkeytoe clips. They grip the roof profile without penetrating the steel and are located at intervals to spread loads evenly across the roof.
