With 30 million sq km of airspace to manage, safety is a high priority for Airways New Zealand. The company, which has locations around the country, recently upgraded roof access to the Andy Herd building at its Christchurch facility.

With the need for regular equipment checks, roof access was previously a challenge. Staff required training in height safety, including regular refreshers, which was no easy ask for a 24-hour shift-rostered workforce. Airways needed safe and simple access that staff could use in any weather conditions.

A series of Monkeytoe raised walkways with handrails has provided ease of access in sun, rain or snow. Equipment can be checked quickly without the need for cumbersome safety lines. Additionally, roof membrane protection has been enhanced, with improved protection against leaks and increased control over RF exposure.

We have provided a safer, more accessible access method for our staff by using the Monkeytoe access solution.
