What started in 1996 as BOP Transport has grown into a nationwide freight company providing chilled and frozen transportation. To accommodate growth, they needed to build a new factory in East Tamaki. The specialised roof, which was constructed out of Bondor insulated panels, required an access system that would protect it from excessive direct loads.

Working with Big Chill’s project team and Macrennie construction, Monkeytoe developed a lightweight, high-strength engineered system. This pipe rack and access system reduces structural loadings to the roof. The total weight is a fraction of structural steel alternatives, and reduces the number of roof penetrations required for the massive pipe works, valve stations and control systems located on the large roof.
